Dr. Takhtovich is a Family Medicine physician at the Highland Primary Care office. Born in Moscow, Russia, he moved to Brooklyn, New York at age 9. After graduating from Stuyvesant High School in New York City, he studied civil engineering and mathematics at Rutgers University. After college, he served as a combat engineer officer in the U.S. Army from 2007 to 2012. His assignments included deploying to Baghdad, Iraq as a platoon leader, serving in Bamberg, Germany as a battalion training officer, and deploying to Afghanistan as a battalion operations officer. In 2009, he was awarded the Combat Action Badge and the Bronze Star Medal. After leaving the military in 2012, Dr. Takhtovich worked as a civil engineer in New York City for 18 months prior to starting medical school. He graduated from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey in 2018. He then completed residency training at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, New York in 2021. Dr. Takhtovich finished the SUNY Downstate acupuncture program in 2021.
